we need some new posts here. so i will throw something out here.

if you just got off the ship and are home, or on the ship and checking in on us, let us know what you are seeing there that is wild and free. are the whales out and about? it might be fun for soon to be cruisers too know what they can be looking for out there?

While on the cruise we saw whales but they were more out in open waters. Nothing really close up. Went through a huge school of dolphins. Sea lions, sea otters, and bald eagles. Was disappointed though we didn't see any moose, bear, or puffins.

thanks for letting me know. i did not see any bears either and i went in sept when the salmon were on the run. i have 6 family members on the diamond princess this week and i hope they get too see some wildlife also. they are going to do the horseback riding tour in skagway so they might spot something when they are doing that.

    thanks again

We saw plenty of porpoises, whales (humpback), seals, sea lions, sea otters, bald eagles and one young brown bear in the Misty Fjords.
Photos at http://www.bondpix.com/Alaska_Cruise.htm and follow the links for the wildlife pictures. Many more to come soon.
