Our Alaska cruise ends in Vancouver, and we want to spend the day and the night there. Do you have any recommendations for a place to stay there?

Everything does! I guess mid-rate... don't know what that is though in Vancouver... Can you get anything for about $100/nite?

    US$ ?
Marriot Suites on Hornby OK rooms and the best breakfast around included.
Some folks use PriceLine and get really good deals. That I have no experiece with but if you find out which hotels you might end up inI could help you out.

Thanks BSeaBob. I don't know the area, so difficult to tell where would be good to stay. We only want to spend one night, in a safe place, it doesn't have to be fancy. I know there is a great park in Vancouver, there must be museums, other places of interest. My teen (and both her parents!) would be very happy to spend the day in an art or a history museum. Of couse, we would also love to explore the city, see what there is to ooh and ahh over in Vancouver. I see that $100USD is not going to get us far with a hotel, so I guess we have to go a little bit higher?

Are you familiar with the Sylvia Hotel? I wrote to them asking for rate info...

There we go. That will do. I did check their online rates, it was just a bit over $100USD, but I'll check vancouver.com. Sounds like plan! Thanks.

Glo, If you have AAA you can get a tour book of vancouver. It has coupons and hotel deals.Vancouver is a great city.We went two days early and was glad we did.I ask for a room on the high floors for a better view and it does not cost more to do so.The Grouse Mountain Tour was so excellent. We took the tram up the mountain. Breathtaking!

BTW the Sylvia is a great "Old Classic" hotel. Right across the road from the beach. It would be a great place to stay but I doubt your budgt would like it.
