We (4 adults) are going southbound from Whittier. Our flight gets in Anchorage late the night before. So we can only choose to hang around Anchorage until 3pm or go early to Whittier and do a cruise tour (Major Marines or Prince William Sounds?) of Prince William Sound. Can anyone tell us if cruising PWS first day on Carnival Spirit will be good enough sighting? Thanks in advance.

    Welcome to our forums.

I suspect that there are few folks that have been up that way on our boards. But I know there are some around. Most of us that post have just done the return to Vancouver and I'm one of those. I'll see if I can scare up some info for you.

I read your post earlier. We are **planning** to do the Prince William Sound excursion the morning of our cruise, but that's not until 8/26/09! =eek Sorry I can't help you!

We left from Whittier, AK in 2004 on the Coral Princess. We cruised across Prince William Sound. It wasn't cruising close to the shoreline. I don't know how Carnival does it, but I would think a cruise tour on one of the companies you mentioned would be a more of a tour than what you would have on the Spirit.

It's a private excursion. Google it. I must have it SOMEWHERE. I will look. One company will store your bags. You do the excursion, then get transport to ship and do your cruise. Ship doesn't leave until 9pm or something like that. The one I'm planning is PRE CRUISE.

Found the website for what we will probably be doing. The excursion is from 1-5:30, tho, so don't know if it would work for you. Maybe you want to check it out anyway: www.26glaciers.com
