With Celebrity new policy on smoking, do you think Royal
Carribean will follow.,
I think its going a little too far when you can't smoke in your own stateroom .

Royal Caribbean already followed long before Celebrity. The only difference is on Royal Caribbean you CAN smoke on your balcony if you have one. But you can't smoke in your stateroom.

Coupons from points for RCL Visa card.

Has anyone had trouble obtaining coupons from points earned on the Royal Caribbean Visa card?
I have called several times and still no coupons in the mail. It has been three weeks now. Want to
use them on an upcoming cruise May 3rd.

I have faults.... smoking WAS one of them.
What's that got to do with my statement?
Do you believe my statement is wrong?
Do you believe I'm trying to hurt someone by encouraging them to quit?

I'm all ears { eyes ?? } please... tell me one single redeeming value that smoking has.

But first let me offer you this to think about. My wife told me this years ago.
She asked me why I smoke and I told her because I like it, and what she said next
was one of the most brilliant things I ever heard. She said:

"It's not that you LIKE smoking, it's that you DON'T LIKE withdrawing.
Everytime you put out a cigarette you begin withdrawing from nicotine again."

Think about it....

Tell me what you really think about me TampaMike! I guess because I smoke, I'm a dirty, disgusting person????? Sorry, but this is one subject that causes the hairs on the back of my neck to stand up! It must be hard standing up there all by yourself on that pedestal and being so perfect.

Thanks PH8. I enjoy smoking and have no plans to quit. I like the smell of it, the taste of it, etc. I know I'm in a minority here and that's fine with me. I'll live my life the way I want to and I respect the lifes of other people to be able to do the same with theirs. And part of living my life the way I want to is being able to do what I enjoy when I'm on a cruiseship. I don't care if they take away smoking in the public areas, but I want to be able to smoke in the privacy of my own cabin!

Well, I would never want to deprive anyone of the right to smoke if they want to. However, we just returned from a wonderful Western Caribbean cruise on the Liberty of the Seas and could not ONE TIME use our very expensive balcony as the smell of smoke was so pervasive, even when we were underway. We could not even keep the door open to get a little of the balmy air in the room due to the smell. A person's right to smoke ends where my lungs begin. Oh, and by the way, it is never your own stateroom. You are allowed to use it for your designated number of days, and then someone else who may have asthma, allergies, or good taste, has to move on in with the reeking furniture, mattresses, and carpeting. This balcony situation, well, this was the second cruise we were deprived the use of the balcony by someone else's habit.

A good idea would be if they designated one side the ship(the cabins) as smoking/non smoking.........I know they cant but it would help solve some the problems..
