You can book shore excursions earlier than 60 days out!

Thanks to another post, I checked Princess' Cruise Personalizer and was able to book all our shore excursions, even though we're 109 days out from our sail date. If you're not cruising for awhile, you still might want to give it a try to see if you can book. By the time it's 60 days out from sailing, there may not be much left!

When my husband and I went to Hawaii this past March on the Sun Princess, I waited until 60 days out and booked my shore excursions, because I thought that was the earliest I could do that; and when we got on the ship some were already sold out and I was then told you could book them sooner than that. Now we're booked on the new Island Princess for next summer and I was just wondering how soon we could book those shore excursions. I hear they're limited and not everyone gets what they want if they wait until they're on the ship.
    Happy Cruising......Anita

P.S. It's our first Alaska cruise next year and I've heard that a lot of the shore excursions are very limited and a lot of people suggest to book them directly.

Thanks for the tip Lady Jag! And I've also been meaning to thank you for the help you provided when I was contemplating a cruise for next year. We are BOOKED! LOL Have Cabin C752 on The Golden Princess next October 10th!:) I took your advice and booked the wonderful aft cabin! It will be our first and we're soooooo excited! Kim of Kims Kruises is holding my hand through this one since it is all so new and she's been wonderful. I do hope that I didn't break any rules by mentioning that.

When and where are you going? And I'm sure you'll have a terrific time!

Ocean.queen - Isn't it exciting getting those excursions booked? I want to do everything when I'm at home and then I get on the ship and I don't want to do a thing! $1000 came and went very fast for our upcoming Coral cruise and I still have 2 ports to book.

Can't wait to hear about your cruise, as it is one we've been considering. The only thing holding me back is whether the boys (14 & 11.5 yrs.) would be happy with a ship that small. Make sure you let us know all about it when you return. :wave

:dance :thumb :jump :dance Congrats, Sharon! Hope you have a short count down!

Buddy - Just be careful when booking independent shore excursions. If the ship cancels that port or shows up late, you'll miss your excursion and you won't be reimbursed for the tour in most cases. Sometimes though, I think you get a much better deal going independently. We do it in some ports too.

Lady Jag...because of your tip, I logged on to 'Cruise Personalizer' and surprise...on the bottom it states that excursions are available 120 days ahead !! ...last time I logged on (about 2 weeks ago) it stated availability 60 days ahead. So...heads up everyone.

Good tip for the independent excursions...I hadn't thought of the negatives you mentioned. Thanks!

I will certainly report back about my Tahitian cruise....there's not many reviews out there. I was on the Monarch in Sept if you have any questions.

That's interesting. =dunno Ours said 60 days still, but the 120 days makes more sense since we've been able to book and we're way past 60 days until sailing. I just love this feature. I think Princess has really improved their website over the past 18 months. They are smart to allow access to shore excursions booking early, as it encourages people to book with them. They just make it too easy! :)

They've also changed the whole format of the cruise personalizer. It's so nice and easy to use!

Not every body can do this. A nice little glitch has cropped up now. If you have a back to back cruise you cannot get into your cruise personalizer at all. And I have two different
booking numbers. Princess's web site says I have to call them when I try to access my
account. And I could access it before for these cruises. So this update on the web site isn't a good thing for everyone.
