So what do you think my odds are of making an 11:00 a.m. flight out of FLL on Tuesday, January 19th?

My current flight is at 12:30 p.m. but have the possibility of changing it to 11:00 a.m. which would get me back to Michigan four hours earlier

I'll be disembarking from the Ruby Princess but don't know how many other ships will be in port that day. Does anyone remember the link for the cruise ship port schedules?

Opinions and advice would be appreciated!

11 AM is cutting it close -- what if the ship doesn't clear right away?

We had a bad situation in San Diego this past May -- the ship didn't clear until 10:35!! They kept paging and paging for this one couple to report to immigration.

You can also check cruisett and cruisereport.

You "might" be able to make it if everything went OK. But like Krazy Kruizer said, you never know when the ship will clear immigration. It looks like just the Ruby and Island Princess will be there that day so not so bad. Susie and I have made noon flights out of FLL on a Sunday. I guess what I am getting at is 11 is doable but kind of risky.

My unscientific method is to go to Travelocity.com and do an advanced cruise search, plug in the date and port and see what comes up. When I did besides the Ruby all I get out of FLL was the Island Princess on Jan 19, 2010. FLL is the only port I'd try that early. There is ALWAYS a chance for a screw up no matter what time you book your flight. I remember when we sailed on MOS@IC and the cruise coming in the day we were sailing didn't arrive till noon due to a medical emergency.....LOTS of folks had to reschedule flights on that one!:duh:

We did it in Feb, 2008. Our fight left around 11 AM.. Opt for Princess express check out, you do not have to deal with your luggage as they take it to the air port for you. We were the first one off the ship and made it to the air port in plenty of time. It was great. We took the chance because the next flight out was not until 6 PM

Last year when we were on the Jewel our afternoon train was move to the morning schedule due to track repairs at the last minute. E made arrangements with the from desk & again we were the first off. I am not sure of the time. a range between 9 and 10:30 AM. I am sure E & red would know the exact time

Have a great time on your cruise

Go for 11:00 AM, if you miss the flight, you are in Fort Lauderdale rather than Michigan. Make a backup reservation in May.

Barring NO delays at disembarkation U should NO problemo at all Buddy as its a Tues which should mean a limited ship schedule for Port Everglades. We have always been at the airport by NO later than 9:30 AM. I would specifically ask for the EARLIEST disembarkation luggage tags and that will help out a LOT.

Or as Jeanie mentioned the Express Checkout will work also. :banana:While on the Jewel in Feb we had to get off pronto and The Group Coordinator we got super assistance and were 1st off at 7:30 AM. Best of Luck and enjoy!!! :boogie:

Mark and I say go for it too..You and Kari are like us..it's flight Hell to get Home to Michigan....:D..as it is Tuesday, and only 2 ships, I'd do as Jim says for advance leave with Princess ..
we always opt to stay another day IN FLL and leave the next AM..it's because in Winter we are locked in Flight Hell to Vermont!!
best of luck..and :bawl: we are sad not to be hanging with you and the Reads..enjoy!!..hugs Joanne

If both flights are Northwest and the 11AM is not full, you can keep your 12:30 reservation and get on the 11AM if you get to the airport in time. I have done this at FLL.

You are cutting it close, If it was an international flight I would say no.
Ask them on the ship if you can be one of the first ones off. the oddes are with you. Good luck and have a great cruise!
