image World cruise passengers who were stranded on a liner in Madeira for two days felt they were being "used as pawns" as the ship's owners fought a legal dispute, according to one Westcountry tourist on board.

Nearly 500 holidaymakers on the MV Van Gogh were in the Portuguese island port of Funchal from Tuesday as a result of the dispute. They are now heading for Falmouth on the last leg of the trip after the ship's owners reached agreement with administrators yesterday.

The vessel is due back in the Cornish port tomorrow night after a three-month world cruise....
