This was the a HORRIBLE adventure. 5 day cruise to Progresso and Cozumel Mexico. This cruise failed to meet my expectations developed by my last cruise with Carnival. Hundreds of unsupervised children beating on doors at all hours of the night, begging to be let in by their parents who had locked them out! Many things got broken on the ship including the elevators and murials by unsupervised children and drunk adults. By cruise end, only two of the main elevators were operating and the glass had been broken in them. Even the food in the formal dining room left a lot to be desired. My introduction to Progresso was the duty free shops that featured very few products that did not make a refference to drugs. I love to visit beaches, so I chose the Corona Beach Party exscursion. The bus ride featured a view of armed military in flack jackets and M-16's everywhere! The water at the beach was nasty and me and my husband were approached by peddlers to purchase everything from drugs to prostitutes. Nothing legal for sale here. Cozumel was not the glory that I had seen on the last cruise. The beach was over-crowded like sardines packed in a can. Too many children and no lifeguard. Carnival also double charged our credit card for purchases made on the ship. Calling customer service only produced an "I'm sorry" and a promise to return the over-debited charges which has not be done yet. I would not recommend this cruise to anyone!
