Left from Vancouver, had to check out from hotel at 11 am,used to noon in the states so were very early arriving, check in was a breeze, thank goodness after customs,we did wait a short while in chairs but the guy herding us in was a hoot,he should of been one of the comedians on the ship,Terri and hubby were one row up,she was hopping about ,so I went to meet Ritchie quick so he would know what John and I looked like, then we were aboard.

The Carnival Spirit is a beautiful ship, especially her atrium with the soaring 10 floors up,the ship was very tastefully decorated in a art nouveau feel. We had given everything to baggage except my purse and Johns camera so we went immediately to Lido Deck for lunch,it was about the only good lunch we had there, unfornately since every day we were in port they closed the dining room we had to eat too many lunches here, and carrying trays was very hard for me,and food was very cold.

We walked the ship and explored her nooks and crannies, lovely but way too many lounges, with no body in them the entire trip, dont know where everyone was hiding, guess in their rooms on sea days but the ship was empty, guess they were all playing bingo or trivia games, not my bag,John and I spent as much time outside as possible,we come on for the sea and since this was our 1st inside room the only way to see Alaskas beauty as we sailed by.

Sail away was lovely though a bit cold and slightly overcast, got to meet Terri, her hubby and Terris cousin Linda on the fantail aft deck bar,John and Ritchie immediately went to talking and Ritchie generously shared his bucket of beer,I finally needed a chair,so Terri got me one while we enjoyed the sail under the Lions bridge, shortly after we broke up and John and I did some more exploring, went to gift shops and looked about and then went to dinner,we had a delighful waiter Romeldo,he is in my pictures and even though we had anytime dining he was our waiter most of the time, thank goodness we did anytime dining, different people every night,I made so many new friends, several I met up with every day and we would eat lunch together,or view Glacier Bay together ect. I think Linda really wanted anytime, she didnt like the late dinner,I could never eat that late,a small complaint I had about dinner,we always ate about 6,they keep U for about 3 hours, very slow,I never saw one show, the 1st one was about 7:15,still eating, the second 8:45.usually missing the first 15 minutes, when they only had 10:15 pm shows which were too many,John and I were ready for bed, lol.

2nd day sea day,up for breakfast in dining room,John loves those egg bennys for breakfast, then to shops, bought sail away pic and folio with ship in it,then we met up with people the night before Bob and Debbie, had a nice natter in one of the empty lounges,( her husbands father died the 4th night of the cruise, they wont be able to make it home for the funeral)then went to art auction, the ship was really rolling and for some reason they put the art auction down in the belly of the ship in Versailles lounge, very small, dark,no windows, they had put all the art on the seats, not a place to sit and many of the elderly left as with the rocking and sloped floors like a theatre room they couldnt walk much less stand,I barely stood it out,the motion of the ocean I love, just not standing for a hour and a half, the champage was flowly freely, think John had 6-7 glasses, they just kept coming by,but they started out with about 200 people and there was only about 40 who stayed,if we had money i would of bought a Disney print for friends of mine for Christmas, but I did win a 750 dollar painting in the raffle draw, most raffle draws were for a 100 dollar credit towards a painting so I was lucky,Terri was the other winner and she wasnt even there, she was sick so sent her cousin,we bought picked the same painting later in the day, course you had to pay a 35 dollar shipping charge home, lol.Next we went to the Casino,John wanted to play,I said no,no money but he put in 10 bucks, won 40 and I said lets call it quits,it paid for shipping home of painting lol. This was 1st formal night, got dressed, met Terri in lobby and she was alone,Ritchie doesnt like to dress up so we took a formal picture together, hated my outfit, looked like a balloon, dinner was lovely.

3rd day,was Juneau though we didnt arrive till 2 pm,so moseyed around ship ate, lunch in Lido deck, ugh, then went ashore, lovely day,we went up the tram immediately while weather was still good,1800 feet up which is nothing for us from CO,lol, just beautiful up there, they had a nature preserve, with a eagle,a sgift store,a enclosed view area to look down on,a restaurant,we stayed up there over a hour, took lots of funny bear pics and John lots of the eagle, then back down the tram some stunning pics of the view going down, when we were up there we paid for a picture I will post later, its so funny. We walked around for about a half hour,we have been here before and I didnt need to go to every jewelry shop and get every piece of free trinket they were offering so came back on the ship about 4:30,we figured everybody else would be out for quite awhile as there till 10:30 pm,but many people had already come back onboard,a shame since it was a lovely day,but we couldnt afford a excursion,so we went hot tubbing on the ship, just what the doctor ordered,we had been in for about a hour when Terri joined us in the tub.Dinner was after, now I had ordered John a surprise gift a canapes months ago before he lost his job, they were supposed to be delivered the 1st night, but werent, next day we found card, saying we were supposed to call for them for freshness,so the surprise was wrecked,I called and told them to deliver 3rd night at 9 pm in room,we had brought some wine onboard and I wanted a romantic evening,9 pm went and it was 9:30,I called and said where is the canapes,a chinese lady said I sent them up a hour ago lady, all of a sudden I heard a lot of noise outside,a chinese waiter was running up and down the halls laughing,he said lady I brought your canapes but dont know what room I put them in,he was going in and out of rooms with his master key saying I cant find lady,I dont remember what room I put them in,this was funny, real funny later,John and I laughed and laughed, but at the time not so much,I called room service again and said I want to be credited for the canapes as these were bought not free, she said lady he coming, and sure enough he showed up with them on a beautiful silver platter,3 of them missing,on their sides, juices running out, dried out bread, but a big smile on his face,I called room service again and said this is unacceptable and she said lady he has master key no one can get in rooms to eat your canapes,I said what about the people who are in the room, yeesh, aagain I asked for my money back, she said she would have to ask, another half hour rolls by,she calls and says good news lady you can have another tray for free,I said no I want my money back,it was 11:30 at this time, she just kept saying its free, wish I could type how it sounded in her chinese accent, lol.

4th day was Glacier Bay,we got up very early so we could see the Glacier as we arrivd, got up too early, ship running behind, anyhoo cold at 1st so John ran up on deck and took pictures way up by funnel, met Ritchie there, both he and John love to take scenery pics,I stayed at a table with another couple from a dinner we met, shortly after we entered the area where there was blue in the glaciers it was about 55 degrees, just lovely, warm and bright, the crew, rangers everybody was out,the rangers said it is very rare to get a warm bright day like this so they were taking advantage as well,it was absolutely stunning,John had zoomed in on some harbor seals quite a ways off on a ice floe, unbeknown to him he had taken also a orca whale coming up on the ice floe to eat them,we showed the ranger and she had to have a copy, said we could sell that pic,she had never seen anything like it,and then I forgot to post it for U guys, will do later today, another great dinner,we were in Glacier Bay till about 3 pm,waiters danced for us this evening.

5th day we hit Skagway, very cold, and somewhat overcast,I didnt take the bus as it cost 2 dollars a person to get into town,I was so proud,I walked the mile in and back by myself.John was so upset we couldnt ride the White Pass Train this time but they did have the steam train out for the 1st time in a long tome so many pics were taken,we also stopped at the red Onion to warm up,John had a beer and I had a coke,we stayed about a hour and talked to people, then went to the Museum and bought a 12 dollar pice of jade a bear catching salmon,we then went back, went to change for the Packer game in Sports Bar,due to the Steam Train carrying too much load up the mountain the train did not get back till after 5,the ship was supposed to leave at 4:30,the game started at 4:20,we didnt get the game until the last few minutes of 3rd quarter, lol, due to they cant even get a signal till 30 minutes after you sent sail again,so since it was 2nd formal night we went up to our rooms to change and watched 4th quarter there,we won as the whole 8th deck can attest to,I and John were screaming our heads off we were quite vocal. After another lovely dinner,we had 11 different stands take our picture since I hated the 1st one so,I found 5 pictures I loved and bought 2 which I will post later,my sons when I got home said you guys look young and good in these, lol.

6th day was Ketchikan,it was a stunning warm day,we headed immediately for Creek Street, and John took his many pictures of salmon,I found a steal on those Russian nesting dolls,John got some real cheap shirts and sweatshirts, they were giving them away and we found a porpoise jade necklace for Terri, the most money we spent but she was well worth it,she is gonna get a great review from me when I have time to type that one, lol.John wanted fish and chips so bad but we decided to eat on the ship,we also went up the funicular here to a lovely hotel on top called Cape Fox Lodge, what stunning views,a restaurant and a lovely back area with totems and spans of mountains to look at.We came back on ship after this and went hottubbing again, then dressed for dinner, tonight they did dancing with the patrons(waiters).I had ordered a cake for John as well this evening to be delivered to our room, after dinner it was delivered to our table, another surprise spoiled, the waiter said Happy Anniversary,Birthday,I said no its a I love you cake to my hubby,he said dont know love song and ran away from table, lol,we took cake back to room, had to have our exceptional room steward Leny Fernandez get us plates and silverware, lol,he also offered to take John to front of ship next day to see the bell but John told him he already sneaked up there to do that, lol.

7th day, last day and sea day,John played 2 dollars on penny slots, lol, saw the couple we met in Sports Bar,she ran over to John and I andn hugged us,said she won 5 grand the night before, must be nice,by this time my tummy said enough food, skipped breakfast, went on a tour of the kitchen galley,John loves to see places U cant get into, there must of been a thousand people in the Empire dining room, heard a lot of people say they havent done stuff like this since 9-11 so it was very special.Went to close out shopping, bought 2 glass art pieces a bear(polar) and grizzley,2 for 10 bucks, they were selling 100 dollar watches which came with a pen and wallet for 19.95 so John bought 3,2 for friends for Christmas gifts, this was our big spend day,but our total bill was only 240,and 140 of that was tips, plus we had a 75 dollar onboard credit from Terri which bought all my pictures, lol.Another good dinner, prime rib, then up to take some sunset pictures,John and Ritchie happily clicked away for over a hour, then we met for pictures in lobby,Terri bought us drinks, and we said our goodbyes, that night was the goodye finale in showroom,Terris cousins and friends had roles we didnt go as only at 10:15 pm again and we had to be 1st off next mornig for the bus to Seattle,I had gone several nights to the Karoke room,Kay said I should of been in the show I had a better voice than her,she was the host of the singing room, but John doesnt want me singing, ever since we moved here and a band wanted me to be their lead singer I think hes afraid I will go back to that, lol.

In all the trip was great considering my limited mobility,Terri was the TA with the most, the only reason I gave it 4 stars is I prefer freestyle,I like having 10 restaurants to chose from rather than 10 unused lounges, they needed more activities than bean bag toss and trivia, they need better food during the day time, would I do Carnival again, yes in a heart beat.

Seattle gorgeous, love this city, went right to Market Place, then down waterfront to Ivars for dinner, then back to hotel which was stunning to sleep.
